Click to Download and Print PuzzleOriginal photos of the Oak Grove Schoolhouse - inside or outside - or the surrounding area, will be independently judged for originality, content, composition, and visual qualities. Additionally, original videos about the past and/or present of nineteenth century Southeast Kansas, will be judged on the same merits. Contestants will compete within their own age/grade brackets and winners will have their work publicly displayed.

Are you creative AND handy with your hands? How about a model or sculpture of the Oak Grove Schoolhouse made from cardboard, popsicle sticks, rock, plastic, clay, or even Legos! Winners will be judged on originality and creativity.
We'll be announcing contest details in the near future.
If you like writing, we're looking for creative students who would like to write a short story about Oak Grove School - either historically accurate non-fiction, or fictional. We will also have a separate category for poetry related to the Oak Grove Schoolhouse.

There are a LOT of talented kids in Southeast Kansas! We will host a drawing / painting contest for multiple age/grade kids.
The theme will be Oak Grove Schoolhouse (past or present), and the surrounding area and towns. Whether oil paint, pastels, charcoal, pencil, paper sculpture, or whatever, your artwork will be on public display, and winners will be based on creativity, originality, ingenuity, composition, subject, and visual impact. We'll detail the When-What-Why-Where here soon!
